Bluewater Health Foundation Announces Winner of 2023 Dream Home Lottery

SARNIA & PETROLIA – February 16, 2023 – This year’s grand prize winner of Bluewater Health Foundation’s Dream Home Lottery has been announced. St. Clair Crew #2, a group of four co-workers at St. Clair Energy Centre in Corunna, have officially been revealed as this year’s lucky winners. The 50/50 prize, which exceeded $284,000, was also drawn today, with Alexandra Morrison of Sarnia selected as the winner.

The 2023 Dream Home lottery had the largest prize board in its 28-year history, boasting over 2500 prizes valued at nearly $1.4 million. Since its inception, the lottery has raised over $8.5 million for Sarnia-Lambton’s community hospitals, Bluewater Health and Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital (CEEH) of Bluewater Health. 

“We are so grateful to everyone who purchased tickets in support of the Dream Home lottery,” says Kathy Alexander, Executive Director, Bluewater Health Foundation. “This is our largest fundraiser to support Bluewater Health and CEEH of Bluewater Health; the funds raised go directly to local healthcare and we are thrilled to see this lottery continue to grow year over year thanks to the generosity of both Sarnia-Lambton residents and people across the province.”

Proceeds from this year’s lottery helped to support fundraising efforts for the newly constructed helipad, which became operational in late 2022. The lottery is a combined effort between both the Bluewater Health Foundation and CEEH Foundation, with funds being distributed equally between the foundations.

“The partnership we have built with Bluewater Health Foundation is vital in supporting local healthcare and we are thrilled to continue this important work together,” says Mark Braet, Chair, CEEH Foundation. “I would like to send my sincere thanks to everyone who supported the lottery and our hospital – we could not do it without you.”

This year’s grand prize is a two-storey home located in a quiet neighbourhood of Bright’s Grove, just a short walk from the sandy beaches of Lake Huron. The home, valued at $1.159 million, is fully furnished and features stunning details including a gas fireplace, custom cabinets with quartz countertops and a primary bedroom with a five piece ensuite and walk-in closet.
